Good quality, accessible water resources are a primary component of any industrial or residential development. Throughout the world, and particularly in the Middle East, access to water resources are scarce and local jurisdictions look to desalination as a means to obtain safe water in the desert.

C&C Alpha Group has investments in a standalone plant located in the Hamriyah Free Zone (HFZ) in the United Arab Emirates.

The technology used at the plant is Reverse Osmosis (RO), specially designed to handle the high salinity of the Gulf. The plant is modular in nature, allowing it to grow in line with the foreseen demand in the area. Phase 1 has a capacity of 1,100m3/day (0.25 migd), which will be expanded to 18,180m3/day (4 migd).
