– a Nira Resort which is part of C&C Alpha Group’s Shanti Hospitality Group is now the first hotel in the Indian Ocean to have joined the prestigious Design HotelsTM portfolio – which regroups a selection of more than 270 hotels in 50 countries across the world.
Having announced its membership to join Design HotelsTM, Shanti Maurice – a Nira Resort joins its two sister properties, Nira Alpina and Nira Montana in the handpicked selection of boutique, design-driven luxury hotels from across the globe, that make up the Design HotelTM portfolio.
Based in Berlin, Design HotelsTM represents and markets a handpicked selection of hotels that reflect the ideas of a visionary hotelier, an “Original,” someone with a passion for genuine hospitality, cultural authenticity, thought-provoking design and architecture.
Designed by local Mauritian designer, Jean-Marc Eynaud, Shanti Maurie exemplifies an understated elegance that is revered by Design Hotels™. Jean-Marc Eynaud based the composition on a tropical model to portray the resort’s natural surroundings. The interiors adhere to a similar theme, making use of a balanced palate of natural materials which include local hardwoods, lava stone, granite, marble and slate.
In line with Design HotelTM’s celebration of authentic culture, Shanti Maurice’s signature restaurant, Stars, has launched a brand new cuisine, Aquacasia. Aquacasia boasts local traditional homemade recipes which depicts the island’s love for food.
“On behalf of Nira Hotels and Resorts, we are truly honoured to have a third Nira property join the Design Hotels™ portfolio, rewarding our dedication to personalised service, cultural authenticity and thought-provoking design,”
says MPS Puri, the CEO of Nira Hotels and Resorts.
“This accolade is particularly timeous for Shanti Maurice with 2016 marking the resort’s ten year anniversary and we will continue to ensure that visitors to the resort arrive as guests, leave as friends and return as family.”
